Featured Author Joy Cowley Many of the titles in the Sunshine Classics program were written by the world renowned author Joy Cowley. Joy is a widely published and celebrated writer of reading books for children. Her prolific output also includes novels for adults, short stories and anthologies. Her first novel was adapted as a film The Night Digger. Joy has received many awards and in 2005 she was appointed a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
